Low-Skills English as a Second Language (ESL): Our ESL program offers classes for beginner to advanced language learners. These classes focus on survival language skills with a focus on speaking, listening, and real-life strategies for reading and writing.
High-Skills English as a Second Language (ESL): Our ESL program for highly-skilled clients offers classes for beginner to advanced language learners. These classes can focus on basic survival language skills with a focus on speaking, listening, and real-life strategies for reading and writing. In addition, these courses can include assistance with preparation for entry and recertification for specific programs, with strategies, techniques, and the specific English needed to succeed. For those who are already employed and need to improve workplace performance with improved English proficiency and understanding of American workplace culture, course content can include specific vocabulary, writing, and conversation necessary in the targeted workplace or profession. All course content is customizable.
Contextualized English for Specific Purposes (ESP): This program offers a variety of courses from financial literacy to pre-employment training, IT industry vocabulary, conversation to worksite English, job search strategies, and basic resume writing skills.
English for Work: This course if offered at the workplace and is provided to employees who need specific workplace training in English. Curriculum is customized to meet the needs of the company and the specific industry. English for Work classes benefit both employer and employee because they focus on learning tasks that employees can use directly on the job. Employees gain confidence and improve their language ability; supervisors increase their pool of qualified candidates for upgrades and additional responsibilities. These courses can result in improved communication between supervisors and workers, increased team interaction, reduced customer service errors, rework, and returns, and pave the way for greater problem-solving, productivity, and quality. The employment-related ESL training requires careful assessment of the participants and of the industry’s needs so that the results can be accomplished at the shortest possible time.
TOEFL Preparation: The TOEFL exam measures a student’s English proficiency. This exam is required for any non-native English speaking student seeking admissions into an English-speaking college/university. This course prepares students with skills, strategies, and techniques to achieve their desired scores on the TOEFL exam. Our curriculum is based upon the four exam areas: reading, writing, listening, and speaking.
